PRODUCER

‍Bernhard Kurz

‍Producer / Creator

‍Bernhard Kurz is an award-winning producer with a lifelong passion for entertainment and a career in show business spanning more than three decades.

‍His journey began with a love of musicals, which inspired him to work behind the scenes and bring large-scale productions to life. In the 1980s, Bernhard joined forces with his brother Friedrich Kurz, collaborating on several Andrew Lloyd Webber productions. With Friedrich as producer and Bernhard as managing and production director, the duo played a pivotal role in popularising Lloyd Webber’s musicals in Germany.

‍Their landmark achievements include the German premieres of “Cats” in Hamburg (1986), “Starlight Express” in Bochum (1988) – still playing to sold-out audiences today – and “The Phantom of the Opera” in 1990, staged at Hamburg’s purpose-built Flora Theatre.

‍Building on this success, Bernhard went on to produce the internationally acclaimed musicals “Marlene” and “Shakespeare & Rock ’n’ Roll”, both staged at the Musical Theater Berlin.

‍In 1997, Bernhard created and produced “Stars in Concert”, a show that has since achieved legendary status. With over 6,000 performances and more than four million attendees, it is one of the longest-running and most successful live productions in German history – and the only German-produced live show ever to play on the Las Vegas Strip.

‍The success of Stars in Concert paved the way for a series of new productions, including All You Need Is Love, which premiered at Hamburg’s St. Pauli Theatre in 2001 and went on to achieve international acclaim.

‍Bernhard’s outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry have been recognised with numerous honours, including:

‍Best Producer – Artist Choice Awards (2003, 2004, 2005, 2007)

‍Best Producer – Reel Awards, Las Vegas (2004, 2009)

‍Lifetime Achievement Award, Las Vegas (2006)

‍He served as European President of the International Association of Talent Agents and Producers (Las Vegas),  with a commitment  to shape and inspiring the global live entertainment landscape.
